Situated right by lake Mälaren outside Stockholm, Villa K was rebuilt from the ground up with Per Söderberg as architect and designer. “The area is known for its modernist houses, and the ambition was to create a modernist villa with a contemporary and personal touch. The vision became less relevant as the project developed and we focused more on creating an expression that blends in with the environment; opening up the house towards the lake, creating harmony, balance and a real home”. The whole process was characterised by an organic flow where one decision on design and material would lead to another decision, with the ambition to create interesting and exciting contrasts. Classical warm materials, like massive oak, teak and brass meets harder materials like terrazzo and natural stone.
